Thank you. I sent an initial email. I got an automated reply. I then followed this up. They have provided no information, and yesterday I received a silly email that said, 'Sorry for the delay, can you re-send the request?' I will copy in some of the replies. I have a phone number I could phone, but I think it would be better to go to a higher level. Here are some of the replies. Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Delayed Response to Subject Access Request
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about the delay in processing my Subject Access Request (SAR) regarding information about Carer’s Allowance claims for my mother, Mrs. I.E.T. Garrett.
I initially submitted my SAR on [insert date] and received an automated acknowledgment. However, despite following up, I have only received unhelpful replies, including one on [insert date] asking me to resend my request with additional details, which I had already provided.
This delay has caused significant frustration and concern, as the information is important for resolving a family matter. I kindly request:
- A prompt response to my SAR.
- An explanation for the delay.
- Assurance that such delays will be avoided in the future.
I have attached copies of my SAR, follow-up emails, and their responses for your reference.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate my complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
I look forward to your response within * working days.
Yours faithfully,

You're making good progress in addressing your issue. Continue with the complaint process as outlined. If the DWP remains unresponsive, escalate to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), as they can enforce data access rights. Let me know if you need help with the ICO process.
