I am buying an LLC , a construction business. I already signed the contract and so far have 15k into it as down payment and the rest to purchase business is worked off in labor, once job is done, company is mine. asked if I could see previous years revenue or tax papers or something showing me what potential revenue this could possibly bring to me and he refused to show me any paperwork what so ever and says it’s not my business and has nothing to do with buying the company. So Upon further investigation I search online for any LLC registration for this business and also any tax records suing all of this is public information and couldn’t find not one single trace of this business even existing. I asked him about that and also asked to just get my money invested so far and walk away and he said I can’t cause it state’s in contract that if I did so I forfeit all money. So my question is, is it illegal for him to attempt to sell me an LLC business that does not exist?
