The mother doesn't have any other children has had several relationships over the years with questionable partners, the latest partner having a lengthy criminal record with the latest charge of a DUI. That partner has charges of domestic violence, violations, car, jacking possession of a weapon, strong armed robbery. That partner also has a history of substance abuse. That partner also has a child that he does not have custody of. The mother was supposed to take a no drug test and she did not provide a sufficient sample. It screened positive for Suboxone marijuana and alcohol. However, due to her lack of proper sample, it could not be confirmed and was canceled. The father had to seek a no contact order on a cousin on the mother side for being inappropriate with the child
Given the circumstances, the likelihood of the non-custodial mother gaining primary custody seems low due to:
- Association with partners having criminal records and substance abuse.
- Positive drug screening results.
- The father's steps to protect the child, such as the no-contact order.
