Hi Egmi! I'm here to provide some legal information. Could you please tell me a bit more about your legal issue or situation?
I have a very complex case of child custody with the father of my child. We are divorce, he is re-married and have * more children with his current wife.
Child custody issues can be challenging, especially with changes in family dynamics. In Florida, child custody decisions are based on the best interests of the child, considering factors like parental ability, child's relationship with each parent, and stability. Do you want information on modifying custody or visitation?
I need advice in how to manage this case. We have an upcoming hearing to discuss a false accusation that he did against me of kidnapping our child last year while being on vacation after informed him properly and have a notarized document from him acknowledging this matter. My question is: besides defending myself from this false accusation, can I bring other matters to this hearing? Asking because there is a lot of problems on the table: his wife is making decisions about my son like medical treatments, coming to school meetings, signing paper work from school and others. He also entitle her as parent with the same rights I have and pass over me constantly putting his wife as our son’s parent before me. She discipline my son putting him on his knees, making him through up, yelling at him and even calling him stupid. They also false accuse me of sexual abuse my son because they are trying to destroy my life in any way they can using my child.
It sounds like a very complex and sensitive situation. In Florida, hearings are usually limited to the issues specifically scheduled for that day. However, if you want to address other matters, you may need to file a separate motion or petition. It’s advisable to consult a local family law attorney to guide you through this process.
