I am in an Assessment with the lawyer we hired didn't do his job. He was working a trial and he didn't do his job on our file. I'm in Assessment with him challenging his bill. He contacted the lawyer that I hired and started negotiating with our lawyer. Was this started because he got the upper hand as the negotiations went bad and the lawyers representing me walked away and didn't represent me at my Assessment Preliminary Notice meeting. I feel that I just got had and I now am disputing the legal bill with this new lawyer. What do I do as both these lawyers have made a mess for our case
It sounds like a complex situation, ****. In Ontario, you may consider the following steps:
- File a complaint with the Law Society of Ontario about the lawyer's conduct.
- Consider hiring a new lawyer to assist with the assessment hearing.
- Document all communications and issues with both lawyers.
Do you need help finding a new lawyer?
I also tried hiring a new lawyer and I believe she reached out to my original lawyer and she walked away also. She sent me an invoice for her non consult and I told her I'm not paying because she came onto our call knowing that she would not be representing me at my next Assessment because she spoke to my 1st lawyer. I'm upset as they all know this crooked lawyer. What do I do now? I assed the Assessment Office to change the officer on our case because she and my lawyer both came onto my last Assessment call after our starting time and you could tell that they spoke prior to our call and it was clear that the Assessment Officer was siding with my lawyer so I asked them to remove her off my case. What do you suggest?

If needed, I can help you find a lawyer who specializes in cases like yours. Would you like assistance with that?
