Hi Tabetha! How can I assist you with your legal issue today?
I think my right to expect reasonable privacy was violated at a hotel recently
Hey Tabetha! That sounds concerning. Could you share more details about what happened at the hotel? This will help me provide more specific information regarding privacy rights in Texas.
I wasn't there at the time but my friend was, he was dog sitting. He got locked out of the room and when he went to the front desk, the lady refused to give him a new key, stating that she could call the cops and have him escorted to the room if he would like? He refused. He then tried to get into the room with the old key a couple times, she saw him on camera and called the cops. Had him removed from the property then recorded herself go in g into my room to see what he wanted so badly she said.
Hey Tabetha! That sounds like a frustrating situation. In Texas, hotel guests generally have a right to privacy, but there are exceptions where hotel staff can enter a room, such as for emergencies or if they suspect illegal activity. Since your friend was not able to access the room and the police were involved, there might be grounds for discussing the hotel's conduct further.
Was there any damage or loss resulting from this incident?
Yes when I got back to the hotel she called the cops and had them yes and had them escort me t ok the room to get my things. She says she found drugs in my room and tried to keep the cops. They did follow me to the room but I was so upset I didn't get all of my my stuff. They threw it away the next day and said if I tried to get it they would be have me arrested. They threw away my jewelry box and some Important paper
