****n
Hello ****n, nice to meet you! How can I assist with your legal issue today?
I live in New Jersey and my landlord has recently begun doing extremely loud work on the apartment next to mine. I have emailed him with a formal Quiet Enjoyment nuisance letter and he refused to do anything to keep the workers quiet. He just kept restating that he's not in violation of the noise ordinance. He also told me that regardless of my communication disabilities that I am only allowed to communicate with hime through spoken communication such as phone calls or face to face. What can I do and is he in breach of any laws
Based on your situation:
*. Your landlord may be violating NJ's "Warranty of Habitability" if noise levels are extreme.
*. He might be in violation of the Fair Housing Act by not accommodating your disability.
I recommend contacting a local attorney or the NJ Division on Civil Rights for further assistance.
