I went to Valvoline to get oil change in my vehicle, while I was there the tech informed me that I had no license plate lights because the had burnt out, he asked if I wanted them changed out and I said yes, well about a week later I got pulled over for no license plate lights, and received citations. I called Valvoline and spoke w manager and told him what happened and that I wanted to know if the lights were ever changed, I had paid for this service. He told me he would review the video for that particular visit and get back w me. I never received a call from him , so I call him and he told me after reviewing the video that the lights had never been fixed and told me he would refund my money, I said okay but what about the citations I received as well as the time I had to miss work to go to court over these citations, he said they weren't responsible and all he could do was refund my * dollars for the lights . I then sent a letter to valvolines cooperate office explaining the situation and that I would give them a chance to compensate me for associated fees due to their incompetence, I have never heard from them. Are they responsible, can I take them to court over this?
