here is my situation, i have been using Coinbase as a crypto exchange, to buy crypto and transfer it elsewhere when needed. today i purchased $* of ETH, which routinely is supposed to be accessible immediately for transfer, sending, withdrawal etc, now out of nowhere they are trying to tell me it has to be held for seven days, and that this has been there policy all along, even though i have received no notification of any such issues or changes in their services. can i seek any litigation, or at least use the law to expedite this process at the bare minimum?
Hey Kyle! One thing to check is Coinbase's terms of service and their policy on holding periods for transactions. Did you review any recent updates to their terms? This information could be crucial for determining if there's a legal basis for your claim.
if they update their terms, are they supposed to notify me beforehand, because i saw nothing of the sort and now my money is stuck for a whole week with no justification, when i needed it today
Hey Kyle, in Connecticut, companies generally need to notify users of changes to terms of service. Here are some points to consider:
- Check Terms of Service: Look for sections on notifications and updates.
- Consumer Protection Laws: Connecticut law requires clear communication of significant changes.
- Contact Coinbase: Request clarification and an expedited process.
Would you like assistance in contacting a local lawyer who can help you with your case?
