I was quoted £* for an engine rebuild, I was told * week, it's taken * due to the garage miss ordering a part and the putting second hand parts on the vehicle, I was not made aware of this until I complained about how long it was taking. As I'm self employed and it's business ensured, I need it for my work, I haven't been able to work and have lost countless jobs and put myself in financial hardship. The communication I have received from them was awful and I have been ignored multiple times. They refused me a courtesy car and a hire car Now I can't afford the repair as the money I had for it had to be used to pay bills/live. They now won't give me the van until full payment is made, but won't give me any direct communication without me having to chase them all the time for answers. They have also refused my offer of payment plans, and the credit option didn't work as I'm have poor credit so can't use payment assist
Hi ****! Sorry to hear about your situation. You might have grounds to claim under consumer rights laws due to the delay and lack of communication. Here are a few points to consider:
- Consumer Rights Act *: Services must be provided with reasonable care and skill.
- Misrepresentation: If they misled you about the parts or timeline, you might have a claim.
- Negligence: For financial losses due to their delays, you might seek compensation.
