I’m trying to find out if I have a case against my warranty & dealership where I purchased my vehicle six months ago
What specific issue are you experiencing with the warranty or dealership? For example, is it about denied repairs, misrepresentation, or something else?
Yes denied repairs. I took my car into a Chevy dealership recently that was closer to my home than the dealership where I purchased. My suv engine noise was very loud & ticking also smoking from underneath the hood. A full diagnostic teardown was down & the warranty company assured the dealership that the engine would be covered even when the warranty company was told what the issue maybe causing the engine noise they said once again it would be covered after the complete teardown & diagnosis the warranty denied the claim I had to pay over $*+ for the teardown & reassembly and the car is still not fixed I need a brand new engine that I can’t afford so I’m driving my car knowing it can break down at any time but I don’t have a choice it’s my only means of transportation for work
You may have a potential claim for breach of contract or bad faith against the warranty company, depending on their reasoning for denying the repair. Here’s what to consider:
- Review your warranty agreement for specific coverage details and exclusions.
- Check if the warranty denial was justified under the terms.
- Gather evidence (communication records, invoices, the dealership's statements).
- Consider consulting an attorney to evaluate if the denial was improper or if the dealership misled you.

The warranty said it wasn’t a mechanical issue that’s their reason for denial
Case Rating: *
If the warranty claimed it wasn’t a mechanical issue but the problem appears to be mechanical, you might have a strong argument. Gather the following:
- Warranty terms defining "mechanical issues."
- Diagnostic report from the Chevy dealership.
- Any written communication from the warranty company.

It seems like everything is in place for connecting **** with a local attorney. If she has no further questions or requests, her issue should be addressed by the legal referral.
