A towing company was recently sued by Oregon State attorney general for their illegal towing practices. The outcome was that their monetary fines would be suspended as long as they stopped their illegal towing of vehicles. Now, over the past three years this towing company has illegally towed a few different vehicles of mine on multiple occasions. The first one was an SUV that was towed from my assigned parking spot and I lost it because I had no money to get the SUV back. The second was my Acura which I paid to get back. Third, was another SUV which my husband and I were on scene at the time and per law, they should have moved on but instead they proceeded to hook up to the vehicle even though I was in it, and I was basically blackmailed to give them $* to let my vehicle go. Forth, they towed my Jeep which I paid to get back. And last, my Jeep was once again towed, a few months ago and I have not gotten it back because I have no money. All of these instances were illegal tows, because the law states that before each tow, they are required to obtain written authorization for the tow from the property owner or agent. The towing company did not do this. This is also the same reason they were sued by the attorney general. Can I sue them for what they've done to me and can I pierce the corporate veil?
