Esports Contractual Obligations Clarified

Summary

If your esports team never signed the contract or only signed an incomplete draft, you might not be legally bound. Contracts typically require mutual consent and a signed agreement from both parties. If essential terms like salary are not agreed upon, the contract might be invalid. Consider consulting a legal professional to ensure youre making the right decision.

I am currently "signed" under an esports team, that sent me a contract draft with nothing filled in , no personal details, no salary, i had to fill all of this in myself. then sent them this signed draft. Now 5 months later another esports team wants me, my old team never signed the contract draft that i sent (and even if they did, it's still a draft). When i asked them to send me a version of the real contract (even though i already knew there was none) i received a contract signed only from there side. My new team that wants to sign me is telling me that i can just sign with them, since i am not legally bound to my old team, what do you think?
Hey ****! Based on what you've described, if your old team never signed the contract or only signed an incomplete draft, you might not be legally bound to them. However, it's important to consider:
- If both parties haven't agreed on essential terms (like salary), the contract might be invalid.
- A contract typically requires mutual consent and a signed agreement from both parties.
You might want to consult with a legal professional to ensure you're making the right decision. Would you like help finding a local lawyer who specializes in contracts?
