So I’m in quite a mess right now. My car got towed by the police and as I do have an active bench warrant right now that I can’t take care of with warrant resolution until next week, I had got a release of vehicle form notarized and the party I released the car to went to the police station yesterday with all necessary paperwork including proof of ownership proof of registration proof of insurance a copy of the owners drivers license and drivers license of the person the vehicle was released to, to get the tow release slip released to them so they could go get the car from the towing company but the officer that assisted them refused to release the slip to them and I’m not sure why. I’m just needing to figure out, what’s the legal way of doing this so that the police can’t refuse to release the slip again?
Hello Madison, I'd be happy to help. It seems like you've done the correct paperwork. However, laws vary by location. Could you please tell me where this is taking place so I can provide the most accurate information?
