It turns out that i was never refered to the bursary and i was suppose to be refered after my interview in May as long as i expressed interest in the bursary which i did. The bursary fund has now reached its limit meaning i wont get it due to not being refered by my course lead. According to UK law how much of a case do i have to demand recompensation from the uni?
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Here's some general guidance:
- Breach of Contract: If you have any written agreement or email indicating you would be referred, you might have a breach of contract claim.
- Negligence: If the university failed in their duty to refer you, this might be considered negligence.
- Internal Complaint: Consider filing an internal complaint with the university as a first step.
Have you considered seeking advice from a student union or legal advisor?
