Degree Withholding Legalities

Summary

Schools in Minnesota can set specific requirements for degree completion. If the virtual ATI and attaining a green light were established requirements, the school might legally withhold your degree. However, if these requirements are not applied uniformly, it could lead to a discrimination claim. Consult with a local attorney for precise advice.

I just graduated nursing school and because i had to take my classes out of sequence, i was required to take the virtual ati and attain a green light. Those that took classes in sequence did not have to do this. They are saying they wont release my confirmed degree to the board of nursing to take the nclex till i get this. I needed a * percent on the predictor assessment to get the green light and didnt pass by .* percent. Can the school withhold me legally from taking the nclex?
Hi ****. Could you please tell me where you are located? The legality of withholding your degree might depend on local laws and regulations.
