Hi ****! What type of legal issue are you dealing with? This will help me provide more specific information.
I have a lawsuit against costco. I used to work for them and I had missed a few days and a few months later the general manager called me in to tell me that the doctors note I had provided for those missed days was under speculation of being fake. So I needed to provide new one. So I gave them new one next day from my doctor's. About a year before hand I had many troubles with a coworker who was harassing me about my sexual orientation calling me gay and faggot and making me feel uncomfortable. I brought this up to them many times and also in writing. This was in January *. They never once did anything about this. They never disciplined this individual and it kept happening. After they asked me about the doctors note the general manager began to write me up about every single little thing I did wrong by accident. Things that were just completely ridiculous. And than saying the doctors note was fake and it was all because the general manager was friends with the coworker I was having the problems with. I got fired supposedly because of the falsified doctors note. After I got fired the general manager began to harass me out of work and when I tried to get unemployment after I was fired the general manager signed off stating I lied about the doctors note which caused me to get unemployment denied and didn't receive any money from that. I began lawsuit a few years ago and since then Costco and their lawyers have decided to not settle and we have a trial date Infront of judge and jurors in a few weeks. I just got word from my lawyer stating that Costco and their lawyers said that if I don't drop the case that after they win and I loose they are suing me for the cost of their legal fees and all of that. I have proof of everything that the coworker was harassing me at work and also went to my house to harass me. And they general manager did as well. I have text messages from them harassing me even after I was fired saying I should kill myself and again harassing me about my sexual orientation spreading false allegations and rumors. Do I have strong case to win and if so is there anything I should do or not do before the trail date
Hi ****! You seem to have a potentially strong case for harassment and wrongful termination, given the evidence you mentioned. Here are some general tips before the trial:
- Gather all evidence (texts, emails, written complaints).
- Prepare a clear timeline of events.
- Stay calm and composed during the trial.
- Follow your lawyer's advice closely.
Good luck!
They first judge threw out my wrongful termination lawsuit due to the supposed doctors notes so now the lawsuit against them is only for the harassment
****, given the remaining harassment claim, here are some important points for you:
- Emphasize the documented harassment and its impact on you.
- Highlight the company's lack of action despite your complaints.
- Present evidence of continued harassment (texts, complaints, etc.).
Is there anything specific you need advice on regarding the trial?
I have suffered greatly because of this emotionally and it has impacted my financial life greatly as well due to the fact of the emotional trauma this all caused and me not feeling confident enough to seek new job so long after they fired me. ****, to present the emotional and financial impact during the trial, consider the following:
- Share personal testimony about how the harassment affected your mental health.
- Provide evidence of any therapy or counseling sessions.
- Present documentation of job applications and rejections, if any.
- Mention how the trauma impacted your confidence and job-seeking efforts.

I feel they will try to bring up the doctors notes again and they have no proof of them being falsefied because they were true real notes from my physician. If they do bring this up what should I say
****, if they bring up the doctor's notes again, you can:
- Reiterate that the notes were genuine and provided by your physician.
- Present any corroborating evidence or testimony from your doctor, if possible.
- Focus on the main issue of harassment and how it has affected you.
Is there anything else you need help with regarding the trial?
How would they win this case as opposed to me winning this case?
****, here's how they might try to win the case:
- Question the credibility of the harassment claims.
- Argue that the company took reasonable steps to address your complaints.
- Discredit your evidence or testimony.
- Focus on the doctor's note issue to undermine your overall credibility.
Would you like more specific strategies on how to counter these points during the trial?
Yes on all of them
****, here are some strategies to counter their potential points:
- Credibility of Harassment Claims: Ensure your testimony is consistent and backed by documented evidence (texts, emails, written complaints).
- Company's Steps: Highlight the lack of response from the company despite your repeated complaints.
- Discrediting Evidence: Ensure your evidence is well-organized and easily presentable.
- Doctor's Note Issue: Reiterate the authenticity of the notes, and if possible, bring in a statement or testimony from your doctor.
