Employment Discrimination Legal Options

Summary

In California, employers cannot deny employment based solely on a criminal record unless it directly relates to the job. If you were denied a taxi driving position due to a 14-year-old unrelated conviction, you might have a potential case under Californias fair chance laws. Independent contractors may have different protections compared to employees. Consider consulting with a lawyer specializing in employment discrimination to evaluate your situation and explore your legal options.
