i work at a coffee shop in Boulder County Colorado. Breaks are nonexistent most of the time, we get paid no sick time of any kind, the */* law or */* rule is significantly disregarded, we spend huge amounts of time deep cleaning and doing dishes while being paid a tipped offset wage. Our manager who writes our schedule, hires and fires, works about * hours a week alongside us as barista's and helps herself to a share of the tip pool every time while working as a barista. This manager Kate earns $* an hour compared to our ticked off that wage which is between * $* an hour. There's no signage anywhere on the premises of our rights, we have no access to our hours worked other than a paycheck stub. I have spoken to the owners about lack of breaks, not getting paid sick time, and the manager participating in the tip pool with no action taken by them.
