I need help with understanding how to get paid for hours worked for a company as a independent contractor.
Hello ****, in Indiana, independent contractors are not covered by wage and hour laws. However, you are entitled to whatever compensation was agreed upon in your contract. If the company refuses to pay, you could consider small claims court. Can you tell me more about your contract agreement?
So we never had a contracted agreement. I was working off duty employment for this security company so they can use my police powers. I was told I would be paid to attended training in which I did attended and passed. I then worked two additional days at work sit for this company. I was then offered a job for a different company which I accepted. I Informed the company I was working for I could no longer fulfill the position. Then I was blocked by the owner as was never paid for hours worked. Do I have a case?
