I recently just had my yearly review at my job. I was given low scores by my manager. Even though i did get a pay increase, i was then put on a 30 day probationary period and was told my raise will not kick in until those metrics i got low scores on were raised. I have to submit every day for 30 days a report showing Initiative, Quantity of work and Job Knowledge. Is this legal?
Hello Keith, in general, employers have broad discretion to manage their employees. This includes:
- Setting performance metrics
- Implementing probationary periods
- Determining conditions for pay increases
However, these should not discriminate based on race, sex, age, or other protected classes. Please review your Employee Handbook for more specific details about your employer's policies.
ok thanks
