I just was hired by a private owner of a small lodge as the lodge manager, he said we would get free rent plus $* a month paid on the 1st of each month. Do I need to sign some kind of contract so I have some kind of rights and the guy can't say he never hired us and not pay us or kick us out or make us leave whenever he feels like it ?
