Pay Discrepancy Legal Guidance
Summary
In the UK, pay differences for the same job can be challenged under the Equality Act 2010 if based on discriminatory factors. If your contract specifies your role and pay rate, it may be legally binding unless discrimination is evident. Consider discussing pay discrepancies with HR, gathering evidence of pay differences, and consulting ACAS for advice on employment disputes.Full Conversation
ok so i have not looked into the acas side of things yet but i have riased this with hr and just got told that i have singed the contract at *.* and thats what the pay is... now that is fine i accpect i signed at that but i am not doing class * work when others doign the same are getting paid more
It sounds like you're dealing with a pay discrepancy issue related to your Class * driving role. You may want to consider:
- Reviewing your contract to confirm the specific duties and pay rate for your role.
- Discussing further with HR, possibly with evidence that others in similar roles earn more.
- Contacting ACAS for free advice and support on employment disputes.
Have you thought about escalating the issue internally or considering legal advice if discussions don't resolve the matter?

but why how can it be legally binding if i was never told about the *.* pay for class drivers, this is false inforamtion from the company to get me on lower wages but do the same work as other drivers... at the end of the day i have accpeted the *.* to be a driver but i will not be a class * driver my contact only says driver as my role not mention of class * work.. so i have rebvocked the entemlemtn and now will only do *.5t work and below.. this is fair since the wages for the *.5t driver is *.* then that is what i will do.. why as it got to be discriminatory factors all the time.. how does that even work...
