Two other parties and I are involved in an estate settlement disbursement agreement in Texas, where each of us received a third of the property inheritance. However, one of the parties the Executor hired an attorney without our prior knowledge and now demands reimbursement from each of us for a third of the attorney fees paid. Despite the fact that I did not sign any documents indicating my consent or intention to cover these legal expenses, I have not been provided with any legal documentation from this attorney. Additionally, I was not involved in any discussions that led to this agreement or any agreement with the estate. While the checks are prepared, unfortunately, threats have emerged indicating that my share of the inheritance will be withheld until I settle the amount owed to the executor who hired the attorney. Is this legal?
