Hi Erica! How can I assist you with your legal issue today?
So, back in September I was on my way home from a out of state 2 day trip, I was involved in a auto accident which totalled my vehicle. My husband worked with me for the insurance and we both esigned the check to be deposited... 2 days later he filed for divorce, refusing to provide me with the funds to replace my car, I'm still currently stranded with no transportation out of state .. his attorney is saying that they will continue to withhold the funds until the divorce is final, but they are wanting me to go to parenting classes, visitations back home (* hours away) but are still withholding the settlement from insurance... What do I do
Erica, it sounds like a complicated situation. You might want to consider:
- Filing a motion with the court to access the insurance settlement funds for necessary expenses.
- Requesting temporary orders for financial support during the divorce process.

I've asked my husband to send me the funds, he says it has to go through his attorney so it's documented , I've mentioned it to his attorney multiple times and she denied it every time.
It sounds frustrating that you're not getting the funds you need. You might consider:
- Filing a motion with the court for emergency financial relief.
- Requesting a temporary order for the release of the insurance settlement.
