I'm trying to get custody of my niece who is currently in Cps due to her parents being neglectful also they may have some charges of sexual abuse. I know the father currently does. I am the paternal aunt. This is Las Vegas. I hired a lawyer. I ran out of money with a lawyer and all I have so far I am a person of interest, and the cords prove that I don't know what to do going forward because I don't have the money to pay the attorney and I don't know what the next step is
Hi ****, I understand how stressful this must be for you. Here are some steps you can consider:
- Request a Public Defender: If you can't afford a lawyer, you might be eligible for a court-appointed attorney.
- Self-Representation: You can represent yourself in court, although it's challenging without legal knowledge.
- Legal Aid Organizations: Look for non-profits that provide free legal services.

Thank you so much for having information if I already am a person of personal interest and they granted me that does that mean if my attorney quits that they take that away from me
If your attorney quits, your status as a person of interest in the case remains unchanged. However, you'll need to ensure you have representation or self-represent effectively.
