Legal Recourse For Pets

Summary

In Portugal, emotional distress in personal relationships typically doesnt provide legal grounds for a lawsuit. However, if a written agreement exists, such as one regarding shared pets, you may have legal recourse. Verbal agreements are harder to enforce, but written agreements can be disputed legally. If harassment claims arise, the accuser must provide proof. Consider consulting a local lawyer for advice on handling potential harassment allegations and the pet agreement.

My ex boyfriend was living with me for three years and breakup after telling me he loved me and give me a kiss and went to France and told me by message he wanted to breakup. I passed a really bad week and discovered that also he went to Milan 5 days to be with a girl. I then discovered, after he lied a lot, that all was planned inside our relationship and I discovered on his bag a love letter from her saying everything started a year before. I have been struggling mentaly and I am really traumatized and without being able to trust no one. I would like to know if I can do something about it?
I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. In Portugal, emotional distress and deception in personal relationships typically don't fall under legal grounds for a lawsuit. However, if there were any financial agreements or shared assets impacted by this situation, you might have legal recourse.
Is there any financial or property-related issue involved that you need assistance with?
With did an agreement about our cat and he took him for six months. But he also promised by talk he would not have nothing more with the girl for me to let him take our cat. And now he is again speaking with her because he says I was harrassing him daily with questions about this and also the girl. But I feel I am the victim here. What can I do to have at least my cat back?
That sounds like a tough situation. In Portugal, verbal agreements can be tricky to enforce legally. Here are a few options you might consider to get your cat back:
- Negotiation: Try discussing the situation calmly with your ex to reach a new agreement.
- Legal Route: If you believe the agreement was breached, consult a lawyer to understand potential legal actions.
- Mediation: Consider mediation to resolve the dispute amicably.
Has there been any written agreement or any communication that could serve as evidence for the initial arrangement?
It was a written agreement. The only part verbally was regarding her. And he is treatning to sue me for harrassment.

Given the written agreement involving the cat, you may have legal grounds to dispute his actions. He would need to prove harassment to proceed legally. If possible, gather any evidence supporting your side of the agreement. Is there any additional evidence or communication that could support your case regarding the agreement?
Just messages of him confirming he is not with her and that I am crazy but I lied a lot on our relationship and now he wants to show I am the crazy one.
