My dad is forcing my brother to take an anti psychotic shot that he doesn’t need. He does this to disorient him to take advantage of him for his own benefit. He manipulates him to give him money and his prescription medication. My brother needs these meds for his mental health needs. My mom was going to step in and attempt to put this to a stop. But my dad told my brother, “it won’t be pretty if she comes” which sounds like a threat against my mom. My dad is armed and mentally unstable. And I believe he could carry out a threat. I want my brother away from my dad and my dad to be in prison if legally possible
I'm sorry to hear about this situation, Willy. It seems quite serious. Could you please let me know which city and state you're located in so I can provide information relevant to your location?
I live in Indiana. But my dad and brother live in Eatonton, GA and Union Point, Georgia respectively
Willy, thank you for sharing this. Your concerns are valid. Here's what you can consider:
- Report the threat to local police in Georgia.
- Contact Adult Protective Services in Georgia.
- Consult a lawyer to discuss conservatorship for your brother.
Remember, this advice is based on general law and may vary in specific cases.
Is there a law that my dad is breaking here according to Georgia law?
Yes, Willy, based on what you've described, your father may be breaking several laws in Georgia:
- Elder abuse (O.C.G.A. § *-*-*)
- Theft by taking (O.C.G.A. § *-*-*)
- Threatening or intimidating witnesses (O.C.G.A. § *-*-*)

These are serious charges and should be handled by legal professionals and law enforcement.
Ok, thank you so much
You're welcome, Willy. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask. Remember, it's essential to involve the authorities and legal professionals in such serious matters.
I have more to say about this. My brother is a legal adult and is 30 years old. He lives with our grandparents and not with our dad. Does this change anything
The fact that your brother is an adult and living with your grandparents doesn't change the legal implications. Your father may still be guilty of elder abuse, theft, and intimidation. Involving Adult Protective Services and law enforcement is still advised.
Thank you
You're welcome, Willy. If you need more assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask. Remember, taking legal actions can protect your brother and your family.
One more thing. Is it still considered theft if my dad manipulated my brother to give him money and his medication. And it not be him stealing it without my brother’s knowledge?
Yes, Willy. Manipulation to obtain money or property can be considered a form of theft under Georgia law, specifically "theft by deception" (O.C.G.A. § *-*-*). It's advisable to consult with a legal professional for specifics.
