I moved in to my apartment complex in April of this year, one week prior to signing my lease I had all paperwork filled out and turned in. In that paperwork I had provided two letters, one from my mental health counselor, and the other from my doctor. They stated that Rico had been my caregiver for a year and a half and still was at present time. The complex's manager and property manager had those letters for a week when they called and told me I was approved to move in right away. In fact they said the property manager wanted me in ASAP. At time of signing the lease before I did I let them know that my caregiver would stay overnight when I'm having bad days. If my oxygen falls off while sleeping I die. So he would have to stay the night here and there never exceeding the 14 days I'm allowed an overnight guests. They had no problems with it. Didn't asked me anything about him. Which they shouldn't have he was not going to be a resident or occupant just a guest. So in the beginning of September I requested that they please move me to bottom unit due to my disabilities and I'm having a hard time with the stairs and half way up them trouble breathing. They told me "no!" Since that time * apartments have come opened and they still didn't give me opportunity to move down . So it made it to where I had to have more help, for instance; going up and down stairs to let my little service animals to go potty, carrying groceries up the stairs and just getting myself up them. Isn't this a violation of the ADA? On the 18rh they had a 3 day vacate notice write up and didn't place it in my door til the 19th. It was not a 3 day comply or vacate, it was a three day vacate. And not for anything I did wrong. I pay my rent, I have no violations , or complaints. It said that Rico was not allowed on property! What? Why all the sudden? Because he has a criminal background and somebody called them and told them that? So what, he isn't resident or occupant they can't tell me who I trust with my life. They have done business with him in my behalf, and accepted rent money from him cause I needed his help. Since I received the notice they have done nothing but harass me and threaten me! With text messages. I have been over my lease several times, there is not one spot where it states I have to devulge my visitors business. Residents and occupants, tes, but not visitors. But however, it does state that they comply to federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the ADA. Wait a minute, they didn't comply with my request and that would eliminate needing more help. Since I've received the notice I have had my mental health disabilities roar up. I have been at ER a few times with panic attacks, been to crisis worker at Weber human services, and been put in *, * pysch meds all at once. I have missed work, I have a part time job. I have been going down hill due to the fact they are trying to say my caregiver isn't allowed in property. He hasn't caused any problems here . And they have not followed through the legal way for an eviction cause they just wanted to scare me into leaving. I have rights and so does my caregiver. I need advice on what to do
