Mold In Apartment Lease
Full Conversation
I have mold in my apartment and its been 10 days since I have requested to have it repaired and it has not been fixed. I would like to break my lease as I am pregnant and this is bad for my health
Hello Destany, under Texas law, you may have the right to "repair and deduct" or terminate your lease if:
- You've given written notice to your landlord about the issue
- The landlord has had a reasonable time (usually 7 days) to fix it
- The issue materially affects your physical health or safety
Please consult with a legal professional for advice tailored to your specific situation.
