I need to ask a question about landlord tenant rights
Sure ****, I'd be happy to help. Can you please provide more details about your situation? Also, could you please let me know your location as landlord-tenant laws can vary by jurisdiction?
I live in Kenton county Kentucky and I have a raccoon problem it's been going on for months under my mobile home and the landlord's not doing anything about it so I want to know who's responsible for getting rid of them me or the landlord?
Under Kentucky law, landlords are generally responsible for maintaining rental properties, which can include addressing pest problems. However, the specifics may depend on your lease agreement. You may want to:
- Check your lease for any pest control clauses.
- Write a formal complaint to your landlord.
- Contact local health department if issue persists.
There's nothing in my lease about it and I have already contacted the landlord a couple months ago and they say they can't find anybody right now to help and I've also contacted the health department and they were very mean to me
In Kentucky, if the landlord fails to address the issue after a written request, you may be entitled to:
- Deduct the cost of pest control from your rent.
- Terminate your lease without penalty.
- Sue for damages.
Consult with a local attorney for best guidance.
Ok thank you
You're welcome, ****! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need more information. I wish you the best with resolving your situation.
