Roommate Belongings Left Behind

Summary

If former roommates leave belongings and vehicles on your property, you may have legal options to address the situation. California law typically requires you to provide written notice to the former roommates, giving them a reasonable time to retrieve their items. If they fail to do so, you may be able to dispose of the belongings according to state regulations. Consult a local attorney for specific advice tailored to your situation.

I had roomates living with me at my residence. They both left 4 months ago and left belongings and vehicles on my property. I have been asking them to come back to pick the rest of thier belongs, but they have prolonged to do so. They left on February *-*, they did pick up most of their items since then. Vehicles are still here and they have not come back for the rest of their belongings. They have said that they are working too much and cannot come by to pick them up.
