Summary
If your storage unit was sold without proper notice, you may have a legal case. Pennsylvania law requires storage facilities to send a lien notice to your last known address and publish the sale in a local newspaper. If these procedures were not followed, you might have grounds for legal action. Consult with a local attorney to explore your options.Full Conversation

Hello ****, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Could you please tell me your location? It's important for me to provide accurate information as laws can vary from place to place.
I used to live in New Stanton Pennsylvania that is also where the storage units were located. But the address is considered Hunker Pa for the units
Hello ****. In Pennsylvania, storage facilities should provide a lien notice before selling your items. They must notify you via mail and publish the sale in a newspaper. If this was not followed, you may have a legal case.
They supposedly sent something in the mail. I never got anything but they also sent it to our old address we no longer reside at and it was returned to them or atleast should have been returned to sender. I know we never got it. Literally everything we owned was in those * units. Family things like pics of my deceased father things that cant be replaced thousands upon thousands of dollars gone never to be seen again. Our lives all gone
I'm truly sorry to hear about your situation, ****. If the storage company did not follow the correct procedures, you might have a case. I recommend seeking legal advice. In Pennsylvania:
- The storage company must send notice before selling the items.
- The notice must be sent to your last known address.
- The sale must be advertised in a local newspaper.
Please consult with a local attorney for advice tailored to your situation.
Thanks
