I lost my job during covid pandemic and couldn’t catch up my mortgage. Apparently when Regions “helped me” with “forbearance”, I signed a partial mortgage and promissory note in * to HUD. When I finally gave up and sold my house (located in Hot Springs Arkansas) in February * we went through the a title company. Somehow they missed the HUD promissory note and now HUD is coming after 20K - which I don’t have. Should this be covered under the title insurance ?
