My lease in Texas ends today. I have paid everything and been in great terms. I provided move out notice. Today they are sending me a form to sign with a move out notice. I don't want to sign it because I provided it and they acknowledged it through email two months ago. On top of that, they want me to sign an addendum stating that I acknowledge move out costs. I don't want to sign it because I have already signed the lease and am moving out. I'm not required to sign it, but I also don't want to get into any trouble. My lease doesn't specify move out costs other than cleaning if not properly cleaned.
Hello ****,
In Florida, landlords can't charge beyond what's stated in the lease. If move-out costs aren't specified, they can't impose it suddenly. Ensure you have your move-out notice acknowledgment in writing for future reference. You're advised not to sign the addendum without legal advice.
