My ex wife is trying to sell a home that's in her name after our divorce. When I previously owned the home just in my name, there was someone in our community that had a similar name as mine and they filed bankruptcy. Now my ex wife cannot close on the sale of her home today without me signing a bankruptcy affidavit saying I have never filed for bankruptcy and that person that did file for bankruptcy wasn't me.
