Me and my partner are looking for a house to rent, but this will obviously require documents for rental history. I have plenty of rental history, but my partner does not. He has lived with his brother for the past few years in his apartment, and paid him his half every month but not on the lease. My question is, in order for my partner to have some type of rental history, is it possible to have his brother as his landlord? Print out a generic lease agreement, have him sign it as the landlord, is that legal and an acceptable way of having rental history?
