I am tenant. Landlord did not disclose someone died in my apartment within the three years California Civil Code *.* states they must disclose. They said someone lived there prior to us in * and they didn’t have to disclose. Nowhere I can find that clause or exception. The person died less than three years ago. They are trying to raise our rent and we wouldn’t have signed originally for the price of the unit. We want to negotiate price or move to new unit on property
Did you sign a lease agreement and does it contain any clauses about rent increase or property history disclosure?
