once they've gone ahead and done that, what are the options to have it not discussed in the meeting? i am that disabled resident, and i don't want them discussing it in an open forum with all other residents.
Hi Debbie! If the condo board has already put your request on an open meeting agenda, you can:
- Request in writing that the board discuss your accommodation in a closed executive session.
- Cite privacy concerns and the need for confidentiality.
- Mention that discussing it openly may violate the Fair Housing Act.
Would you like more specific steps on how to draft this request?
no thank you. i will take your suggestions you've given and send it to the board asap as the meeting is tomorrow.
You're welcome, Debbie! I'm glad I could assist. If you need any more help or have further questions in the future, feel free to reach out. Good luck with your board meeting!
