I’m moving Thursday and have completed all the way through the application process but the leasing agent called out of the blue today saying I have to pay an additional * for an admin holding fee (even tho the unit is ready and she mistakenly forgot to apply that charge to me prior to approval) and that the fee is non refundable or cannot be deducted from rent balances
Hey ****! That sounds frustrating. Did you sign a lease agreement yet? If so, did the lease mention any admin holding fee?
No

Subject: Clarification on Additional Admin Holding Fee
Dear [Leasing Agent's Name],
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek clarification regarding the additional $* admin holding fee that was recently communicated to me.
As per our previous discussions and the application process, there was no mention of this fee. Additionally, I have not yet signed a lease agreement that outlines such a charge. I kindly request a detailed explanation of this fee and its necessity, as I was informed that the unit is ready for occupancy.
I would appreciate it if you could provide this information in writing at your earliest convenience. Clear communication is essential to ensure that all terms are transparent before proceeding further.
Thank you for your understanding and prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
****
