So i am on sr22 and have bin for a while now. I switched insurance companies and then lost my license because the state thought i had no insurance. Now theres tickets on and my insurance now went up because of it.
SR-* filings are required to prove you have insurance. If there was a lapse or miscommunication during your switch, it could lead to license suspension and penalties. To address this:
- Contact the Illinois Secretary of State to confirm your SR-* status and resolve any issues.
- Pay outstanding fines or contest tickets if applicable.
- Speak with your insurance company about reinstating SR-* coverage.
- Consider consulting a traffic attorney to explore options for reducing penalties or reinstating your license faster.

Disorderly conduct charges in Illinois (or Minnesota, depending on your case) don’t require harm or monetary loss. The state only needs to prove disruptive or alarming behavior. To seek dismissal:
- Argue insufficient evidence.
- Highlight the lack of a victim or damages.
- Work with a criminal defense attorney to challenge the case.
