Hello, I have a question about mounting license plates. I am aware that a front license plate is required by law in Texas and that it must be readable and mounted on the front bumper.
However, is it okay/legal for the front license plate to be off-centered on the front bumper? This would happen if I use a tow-hook mount for my front license plate. As I understand it, this is legal and I should not get pulled over/cited for this but I want to double check. Thank you.
Hello ****,
In Texas, the law requires that the license plate be attached at the front and rear of the vehicle. There's no specific rule stating it must be centered. However, it must be:
- Clearly visible.
- Free from foreign materials.
- Not obstructed.
Please ensure you follow these guidelines.
