Hey there! Since you're in Ohio, the same general principles apply. Employers aren't required to inform you about citations from state agencies. However, if you believe your termination was unfair or retaliatory, you might have a wrongful termination case.
Can you provide more details about the circumstances of your termination?
I used to work for cvs pharmacy. in May * I complained in an email to my boss that the payroll model did not allow for enough hours to do what needed to be done and remain compliant with pharmacy laws. There was no response other than I was assigned additional payroll management training. In August * I was given a step * write up for using too much payroll. We stopped using too much payroll and people quit. When it got busy in September, we didn’t have enough people, so the store got behind on work. My boss told me I better have my store caught up or else on Sept 17th. So I told my team to put scripts on hold, which they cited as a policy violation and fired me in November. During this time * CVS pharmacies had been cited by the state board of pharmacy for improper staffing and cvs was negotiating a global settlement of these citations.
It sounds like you may have a case for wrongful termination or retaliation, especially if you were fired for raising concerns about compliance with pharmacy laws. Here are a few points to consider:
- Whistleblower Protection: Illinois law may protect you if you were fired for reporting or complaining about illegal activities or safety violations.
- Retaliation: If your termination was in retaliation for your complaints about the payroll model and staffing issues, you might have grounds for a claim.
- Documentation: Gather all relevant documentation, including emails, write-ups, and any records of your complaints and the subsequent actions taken by your employer.
