My grandmother bought a Car from Chrysler in *, paid it off 20 years ago. The car is now Totaled and for some reason still has a Lien on the car from Chrysler even tho it’s been paid off for 20 years now. Chrysler financial whom she financed with was bought out and is now TD Auto and can’t go back 20 years to remove the lien that should’ve been removed when the car was paid off. My grandmother can’t get the total loss funds from the accident because Chrysler still has a 20 year old lean on the car that should’ve been removed because she paid the car off. 20 years ago. What can she do now???
Hello ****. This is a complex situation. Can you please tell me which state your grandmother lives in? The laws regarding liens can vary based on location.
