Car Contract Cancellation Rights

Summary

Contract cancellation depends on the terms of the original agreement. If trade-in valuation changes were allowed, cancellation rights may be limited. Cooling-off periods for new car purchases generally do not apply unless financed through a dealer. Review the contracts cancellation clauses and consult the office of fair trading in queensland or a solicitor for guidance.

In Queensland, whether you can cancel your car order depends on the terms of the original contract you signed. Key points to consider:
- If the original contract allowed for trade-in valuation changes, cancellation rights may be limited.
- Cooling-off periods for new car purchases likely don't apply unless it was financed through a dealer.
You should carefully review the terms of the original contract, particularly cancellation or termination clauses. If you're unsure, consider seeking advice from the Office of Fair Trading in Queensland or consulting a solicitor. Do you need help finding their contact information?
