I receive early social security and Direct Express which is the card where it is placed has put a hold on it. I have gone to Social Security, Legal Aid and The State Bar of Nevada. I have sent my personal identification to Direct Express, but I still haven't received my funds.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, ****. Did Direct Express provide any reason for the hold on your funds? It's also important to ask them the process and timeframe for the resolution, if you haven't already.
No, they said they needed my identification card and social security card which made me uncomfortable and I went to the Social Security office to check.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, ****. If Direct Express says they need your ID and Social Security card, it's usually for verification. However, you should never share this information if you're uncomfortable. You can:
- Ask Direct Express for a written request.
- Contact the Social Security Administration at *-*-*-*.
- Consult with a local lawyer for advice.
Remember, always protect your personal information.
Thank you very much ... I do appreciate this information. I will ask for a written request. I did get advice that I could apply for emergency funding, but I am not sure of what is necessary. I did speak to Social Security in person and I am not sure what else needs to be done. They seem to have tied hands.
Hello ****, for emergency funding in Nevada, you might need to provide evidence of financial hardship and other requirements. It's best to consult with a local social service agency or a lawyer to understand your options and the process better.
I am sorry emergency funding through Social Security, but it seems that this may occur to often as they felt they couldn't do anything.
Hello ****, it seems like you are having trouble with getting your social security funds. I would recommend contacting the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, they may be able to assist you with your situation.
Local lawyers don't all practice Social Security so I am not sure of the area.
Hello ****, I understand your concern. In Nevada, there are legal aid organizations that specialize in Social Security issues. You can reach out to Nevada Legal Services or the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. They might be able to help or direct you to a lawyer who specializes in Social Security.
I was told they handle the denial of Social Security claims.
Hello ****, if your issue is with Direct Express and not a denial of Social Security claims, you might want to consider contacting a consumer rights attorney. They can provide guidance on how to handle this financial institution dispute.
