Summary
A probation violation hearing is scheduled to address alleged violations, not new charges. If indigent, you may qualify for a public defender. Court-appointed lawyers are familiar with local judges and procedures, which can be beneficial. Consider requesting a public defender at your hearing. If you have concerns about local legal dynamics, a court-appointed lawyer might be advantageous. For complex cases involving mental health or prosecutorial conduct, consulting with a local attorney could be helpful.Full Conversation
I got arrested from a warrant for a probation violation I just now got something in the mail and it says that on * the order granny petition to evoke probation and my initial hearing is on the 12th of November at *:* a.m. so is that another charge or is that just what they do whenever you get arrested on a warrant for probation
It sounds like the hearing on November 12th is related to your probation violation, not a new charge. Here's what typically happens:
- A petition to revoke probation is filed if there are alleged violations.
- An initial hearing is scheduled to address the allegations.
- The court decides whether to revoke or modify your probation terms.

I got arrested on September 19th on a warrant for probation violation I serve 15 days and I bonded out I got a notice from the court in the mail and it says order granny petition to revoke probation and it says defendant as violated the terms of munition So is this just getting to me from when I got arrested or is this a new charge
It seems like the court notice is related to your previous arrest for a probation violation. The petition to revoke probation typically addresses the alleged violations rather than introducing a new charge. Would you like information about legal representation options for your upcoming hearing?
Yes it has a name Jesse Kyle Sanchez on my papers as attorney but that's not my attorney I don't have one and I'm what they call indigent I guess
It sounds like you might qualify for a public defender since you mentioned being indigent. Here’s what you can do:
- Contact the court handling your case to inform them you don’t have legal representation and request a public defender.
- Ensure you attend your hearing on November 12th to discuss your situation with the judge.
Would you like guidance on how to reach out to the court or more information on public defenders?

Well when I went to court for a DUI charge I had got the DUI just couple months after my friend died and I was literally looking at his great yard when I got pulled over and it took him three tests to get me to blow a positive I am borderline and I had went into where I dissociate is what was going on and when I went to court I even had something from my from my psychiatrist stating that I had that I was working and he knew that my son had just died as well and he knew that my other son had just been in court himself after leaving his brother and him and the lady that was on the side of the prosecution start to laughing at my diagnosis and the fact that my psychiatrist wrote it on a prescription pad and then the lady on the prosecution side ended up being my probation officer when I got out of jail for 6 months and would not give any of my lawyers time to build a case
