Anyway in August of last year I was arrested and told i had a $*,*.* bond. I spent 70 days in jail and was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Again something i didnt do. I am serving 30 months probation now , which i have been on since November of *. Not * time was i questioned by anyone including my so called public defender. I was never asked for my side of the story. I am a very proud *% disabled veteran and now because of what ive been through ive lost my rights. Im now a 3rd degree felon and i dont believe that i have been done fairly at all
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, ****. It sounds like you feel you didn't receive adequate representation. Could you let me know in which location this took place so I can provide relevant information?
Yes Baker County Florida
In Florida, you can file a complaint about your attorney with the Florida Bar Association, and it could lead to disciplinary action. You could also consider appealing your conviction if you believe there was an error in your trial. Would you like contact details for the Florida Bar or a local appellate court?
Yes, however like i said. Ive never been in trouble in my lifs and i would think that considering my past that someone, whether it be the judge, state attorney or the cops should have asked me for my side of the story instead of juzt arresting me, keeping me in jail for 70 days and charging me a 3rd degree felony
I understand your frustration. In Florida:
- You have the right to testify in your defense, but it's not mandatory.
- It's the defense attorney's role to present your side.
- You can file a complaint against your public defender with the Florida Bar Association.
- You might appeal your conviction if you find procedural errors.
Would you like the contact details for the Florida Bar Association or a local appellate court?

Ive lost my voting rights, gun rights and othr rights. Plus when the cops arrested me i had my walker with me and they ( i feel also violated my ADA rights)
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, ****. Regarding your ADA rights, if you feel they were violated, you can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice. For your other concerns:
- In Florida, felons can have their rights restored.
- Consider seeking help from a legal aid organization.
Would you like contact details for these resources?
Yes please. This is a corrupt good ole boy county and now i have a target on my back. I have not deserved what has happened to me and to be charged tried and convicted for something i didn't do is just so wrong.
