Federal Prison Release Date
Full Conversation
My fiancé is in federal prison and I am trying to calculate release date eligibility with good time credit and fsa. Does anyone know is the expected release date on the bop website with good time and fsa credit?
I’m confused because it would only be a month off with his federal hold. Doesn’t seem right.
He is still in Lewisburg, Pa in transit so I’m suprised it updated but guessing he does all the intake stuff in there to calculate.
Does that mean he has a counselor now that I can contact and would it be appropriate to call and ask?
Any insight would be helpful, not being able to hear what’s going on from him is rough.
Hi ****,
- The BOP website generally includes good time credits in the expected release date, but it may not include FSA credits.
- It's common for inmates to have case managers who can clarify this information.
- However, confidentiality rules might limit the information they can share.
Please note that this information is general, and specific situations may vary.

How much time can he get off for fsa credits
Hello ****,
- The First Step Act (FSA) can award up to 15 days of credit for every 30 days of successful participation in approved programs.
- This is subject to change and may vary based on individual circumstances.
- Please consult with a legal professional for detailed advice.

what type of lawyer should I look for to help with this?
You should look for a criminal defense attorney who specializes in federal law. They can help you understand good time credits, First Step Act credits, and related issues regarding federal prison terms.
