Public Intoxication Arraignment Concerns
Summary
If your family member is out of jail, they might have been released on bond or on their own recognizance. As to the arraignment, its a hearing where charges are formally read, not a sentencing. Their past criminal history and status as a PFO can impact the outcome, but its up to the judge. Its best to consult a local defense attorney.Full Conversation
I have a family member who was arrested for public intoxication of controlled substances excluding alcohol about * weeks ago. Their arraignment is in * weeks. They aren’t in jail, they are currently out waiting for arraignment. Does this mean they’re out on bond? I don’t speak to them much, but I’m worried about them. Will they get jail time at their arraignment? They do have a history of criminal charges and they are a registered PFO. Their last charge was in * though. Because it’s been so long, will they maybe get by on bond or will they without a doubt serve some jail time? We’re in the state of Kentucky.
